Hi, my name is Nike Liscaljet and I am a wife, mother, freelance photographer and palaeontologist. It started when I was about 9 years old. On vacations I learned to use my dad's Minolta SR-T 101, because I liked to take pictures of my family and the places we visited. And during a school lunch break I found my first animal bones, getting me interested in anatomy and fossils.

My first camera was a Kyocera Yashica Zoommate 140, compact and handy for trips and festivals. In 2007, I graduated in Archaeology (MA in Archaeozoology and Prehistory) at Leiden University. As graduation gifts, I received both a Pentax A3 with 28-80mm lens, and my first digital camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. A very sad pickpocketing experience in Barcelona left me without this digital camera and freshly made pictures, but then I passed the local Lomography store and bought my first Diana F+ as a consolation. After that trip, I started saving for my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 60D.

I currently own the following cameras:

- Canon EOS 60D with 50mm F/1.4 USM & 17-40mm F/4L USM

- Pentax A3 with 28-80mm F/3.5-4.5 & 80-200 F/4.5

- Zenit 12XP with 58mm F/2-16

- Diana F+ with 75mm, 20mm Fisheye, 110mm Telephoto, 38mm Super-Wide & Splitzer

- Diana Multi Pinhole Operator

- Lomography Sprocket Rocket

- Lomography Spinner 360

- Holga 120 CFN

- Kyocera Yashica Zoommate 140

- Bell & Howell Filmo 134-G

I like going to concerts and festival (especially alternative, rock, metal and stoner music), and taking pictures of bands and performers under different lighting conditions. I take my camera with me when I go into nature or explore a city, trying to capture that animal, moment, place or person. I enjoy it when people ask me to take pictures of their special life events, such as anniversaries and weddings.

I am a freelance concert photographer for venue P60, Amstelveen and 3VOOR12/Den Haag. 3VOOR12 is the largest Dutch online music platform, and The Hague the oldest and largest local department. When I am at an inspiring concert without a writer, and I feel like a photoshoot is not sufficient, I like to write my own articles accompanying my pictures. Every now and then I also like to post analogue pictures and write or translate articles on the website of Lomography Netherlands.

I am a board member of the Dutch Association for the Study of Pleistocene Mammals (WPZ) and a member of their editorial board of biannual magazine Cranium. I still love to search, collect, study, photograph, write and talk about mammalian fossils, especially pygmy proboscideans.

Until 1 January 2015, I have held a parttime job for 5 years at an NGO in The Hague called the International Network of Museums for Peace. Here I was the sole employee, the secretariat administrator, a project manager and manager of all PR, correspondence, meetings and accountancy. Until the office had to close due to financial reasons. Since 30 November 2015, I am a fulltime mom.

When I want to go out and clear my head, explore new places or just enjoy the good weather, I get on my Yamaha Dragstar 650 and like to photograph my motorcycle in nice settings along the roads I ride.
